Easter Sunday

After waking up to find what the Easter bunny left for us, we headed up to Claremont to go to church with John's family. John's brother Mark and his family were in town for vacation and to bless their newest baby girl Miriam.

As always, Brody was a crazy man after church and wouldn't hold still for pictures. The one picture above was the best one of him even with the dinosaur in his mouth. Here is another decent one. He had this rock in his hand and he loves to throw things. He came very close to throwing it at a nice car before we took it away.
Brody, Holden, and Adam hanging out. They loved playing in those bushes.Brody attempting to run away from us as usual.
After church, we had a delicious Easter dinner. Brody actually sat great at he kids table. Usually he has to be tied down in order to eat.
"Ham! No thank you!"After dinner, we had a egg hunt for the kids. Since this was Brody's 2nd hunt, he thought he was pretty smart. He knew exactly where the candy was. So, instead of getting as many eggs as possible, like the other cousins, he would find an egg and immediately go for the candy. Needless to say, he only got a few eggs in his basket. He could care less and me either he had plenty of candy that day to last him a year or more.
Nice face buddy!
Brody and Mama enjoying the beautiful afternoon outside. It was wonderful weather that day. We were really lucky. Brody loved to sit next to Great Grandpa Brown because it wasn't to hard to get candy from him.

We had a great Easter this year and it was really fun to see Brody enjoying it so much too. We took a ton of pictures ,so this is only a part of the day. Hopefully, I will get to posting the other parts sometime soon. Enjoy!

Easter Egg Hunt

We had a little Easter Egg hunt and BBQ on Friday for all of our nursery age kids. The kids had lots of fun and I think the parents enjoyed it too. Good food, hot weather (hey, its better than being cold), fun games, and great friends.
This was Brody's first Easter egg hunt. Here he is trying to get the hang of things.
All the kids checking out their candy. Brody got bubbles in some of his eggs and went crazy. He loves bubbles. One of my friends has a bounce house for kids. I think that is so cool and would love to get one for Brody. We need one important thing before that though, a backyard!
He had a blast in there. He is definitely a jumper and does it constantly off of our furniture (the poor guy downstairs, I am sure he hates us).

"Aught Mama!"

"Aught" is Brody's word for hat and he loves them right now. He used to hate them and wouldn't keep them on longer than a few seconds. The other night he asked us to get his beanie to go to bed with. He is such a funny kid.
Here are some other silly pictures of Brody. We tend to have a lot of them.

Vacation For Me and Discovery Center For Them

For my birthday/Valentines, John gave me a package for a full day at my favorite spa, Burke Williams. Way to go John!! It probably had something to do with the fact that I was hinting to him (no, rather telling him) that I was in dire need of a massage. He actually listened! I should give him more credit than that, he usually always listens. Anyway, I spent the whole day one Saturday doing absolutely nothing, but being pampered. I kind of liken it to a cell phone. If you don't have one, you have no idea what you are missing and then you can never go without. Not to say that I am there all the time. It is still a rare thing in my life, but something I could definitely get used to.

While I was lounging away in bliss and forgetting any and all responsibilities, John spent the day with Brody at the Discovery Science Center. John's brother Tyler and family invited them to go to celebrate Adam's birthday (Brody's cousin). John said that he was still a little young for everything. All he wanted to do was run away from John every chance he got, so he spent spent most of the time chasing after him. The biggest highlight was the Clifford Exhibit, where they had a huge big red Clifford. Brody absolutely loves Clifford so when he walked in and saw it he was so excited.

They also had an outdoor Dinosaur exhibit that he loved.

Valentine's Party

Brody was invited to the cutest little Valentine's Party will all of his friends from church. My friend Abby, who is our self proclaimed party thrower, threw it at her house. We all love an excuse for a get together. It was again a beautiful day and the kids loved hanging out in her yard. This is a great picture that I took off Abby's site. Thanks Abby! You definitely took better pictures than I did. For some reason though, Brody is not in this picture. Not surprising, he doesn't ever sit still!
Aren't these heart sandwiches adorable! She went all out!
Valentines exchange. Brody gave TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) valentines. John picked them out. John has a thing for Valentines. He gives them out with candy to his staff every year. Apparently, it is a hit.
The kids playing hard and enjoying themselves. I just noticed in this picture Brody looks like he is ready to fight the other kid for being in the car. He has braced himself, his hands are up and he is ready. LOL! Thankfully, he isn't at that stage yet where he is beating other kids up. Soon though, I am sure.
Cute picture of Darci and baby Gwenie!

Less Than a Year Away! Yikes!!!

Last month, I turned 29 years old. I had a great birthday and had no problem turning this age. I just am not so sure how I will feel about next year. It just seems sad that I won't be able to say that I am still in my 20's! Too bad, that is life right? I guess we will wait and I'll update you in about 11 months.

So, since my birthday was on a Tuesday and I am married to a CPA, who is in the middle of busy season, I decided to spend the day at Disneyland. I invited bunch of friends and we had a great time. We had some amazing weather in February, 70's and 80's. I was hoping for some great weather on my birthday and that is what I got. Can we say a birthday miracle?!? I splurged too and actually bought myself lunch there instead of bringing one. They have this little stand by Main Street that has the BEST corndogs I have EVER had. They are also half the price of any other meal there.
Since we have been to Disneyland this year, I have never taken him to get a picture with any of the characters. So here is how it went. I think it is pretty self explanatory.

The kids running around while we waited for the train.Enjoying a little High School musical performance. I have to secretly say that I kind of like the music. I was kind of surprised at myself for knowing the songs when I have never even seen the movies. Little Grant and Lanay
That night we met John at home, had a little cake and opened some gifts. A perfect ending to to a great day. Thank you to all my family and friends that called, sent emails, posted messages and sent cards to wish me a happy birthday. I am so blessed to have all of you in my life!
