First, we went on the train ride with friends Max, Avery, and Avery's friend. Max and Avery are the same age and in pretty much the same Primary class at church. They are great friends.
Mommy and Piper needed a picture too!
She is so excited for the train to leave.
What is it kids? What do you see?
Peacock! It is always fun to see the peacocks rooming around.
Every year, I demand one great picture with the pumpkins in the beginning and then they can go play all they want. Usually it doesn't happen until the end because there is just too much excitement. This year they listened and I managed to get some good shots. Thanks kids!
The park has some great looking pumpkins, but they are quite expensive. I was very tempted, though, since I wanted some big ones and weren't able to find that size at any store yet. I resisted and finally found good ones at Albertson's. Brody was pretty proud of himself that he could pick it up. I like these different looking pumpkins, as do my kids since they beg me to get them every time we seem them. Maybe next year.
Almost Piper! That was as far as she could pick it up and then gave up. She is definitely a dainty girl and not too big on athleticism.
Piper and friend Ryan being science experiments.
Almost cracking that 4 foot mark!
Ride 'em cowgirl!
Ooooh! Haunted house time! Maybe if we hold hands and go together it won't be as scary.
Ahhhh!! So fun!!
Piper went with me a few times, but she really wasn't a fan. She preferred taking pictures with me in the light. That's my girl! Finally a child that wants to take pictures.
The nice, pretty witch of the south. :)
Brody finally broke away from the hay maze and haunted house to ride the horses too. . .
. . . and be a little silly with the boys, Jaxon, Andrew, and Max.
Here is most of us minus a few of the older kids, Brown's, Brewster's, Frost's, Hale's, and Mendenhall's.
Trying out the wheelbarrows.
Good try Piper!
After the pumpkin farm, we did something that my kids and I have done before. They have a little, cheap (it only cost us $2 for the kids and I with coupon) zoo in the park. We we walked over there and enjoyed the sites along the way. We got to see horses. . .
. . . and another peacock close up.
All of us walking up. It was a little bit of a walk, but such pretty surroundings. I forget to go here at other times of the year and really should take advantage. It is a great place to take family pictures. Well forget that you can see an excavator in this shot. :)
Almost there!
Ooooh, Ooooh. Look at those eyes. They would be creepy at night.
Checking out the reptiles.
Some lazy brown bears.
Bambi?!
Taking a break.
The leopard was taking a nap earlier, but we were lucky enough to catch him once he woke up. Such a beautiful animal.
At the end they have a little petting zoo where you can brush the goats. Brody wasn't scared and jumped right in there.
Piper, on the other hand, was scared to death. Probably because they are all much taller than her and get right in your face.
She found a little one just her size that just wanted to sit and rest. She was reluctant at first. . .
but then loved it!
Here's a great video of her.
While we were all in there, some of the goats were getting a little aggressive and one in particular was picking fights with the others. They would stand on their hind legs, charge and butt heads. No one got hurt, but we were all fascinated to see them behave this way. Just like a bunch of kids!
Here is a sweet ending to a fun day. These were some beautiful bunnies. I just love the black eye on the one, never seen one like him before.
