Brody's Birthday Weekend Extravaganza Part 2

Brody's birthday didn't just end with that monster weekend celebration.  The following weekend, we went up to John's parents house to have a swim party with the family at their house.  We had Great Grandma and Grandpa Brown, Tyler and Kristi and the kids, John's parents, and Lindsey and Brandon came with their kids.  It was great that they could come this year since they live close now.  Here is Brody and Great Grandpa having a great time playing lightsabers together before everyone got there.

Brody had a Star Wars-themed party and I found these inflatable lightsabers that light up for the kids.  With all these boys around, they had a great time with them.  Brody was trying to show us his skills here and moved too fast for me to get a clear picture.
For dinner, we feasted upon an array of hot dogs and toppings to choose from: Costco dogs for the kids, and Brats and sausages for the adults/men.  It was in honor of Brody since hotdogs are still his most favorite meal.  We also had watermelon, Asian Coleslaw, and chips too.  I was afraid it wouldn't be enough, but it definitely was.  Here are the kids just starting their meal.  I love how Piper is the only one looking and smiling, like it was planned that way.
Take two!
After eating, we hit the pool.  Easton was all ready to go down the slide.
Taking a trip down with his dad.  These two had so much fun in the water.  Easton was a crack up with a huge grin and laughing every time he went down.
Most of the kids stayed in the spa even though it wasn't too much warmer than the pool.
Lindsey and Brooklyn trying to keep warm and smile at the same time.
Brody and Preston trying to be funny like Grandpa and lying on the ground sunbathing.
Present time!
Lego Star Wars from Brooklyn and Easton and Obi Wan for Piper!  Thanks everyone!
Checking out his card from Grandma and Grandpa. . . .
A dollar!!  Money was the popular thing this year.  Aunt Kristi sent a card with a dollar on his birthday and he went nuts when he saw it; he loved it so much.  He plotted where he could spend it and many of the times we were out, he would say, "Man, I wish I had my dollar, so I could buy this_____".  It was the first time he got money, so it was a great learning experience for him.
His very own lightsaber! Thanks Uncle Tyler and Kristi!
Grandpa Brown played a joke on Brody and wrapped up a can of tomato sauce for him.  Brody didn't know what to think at first, but then caught on that Grandpa was being silly and thought it was funny.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for all the Star Wars guys!

Cad Bane and his bike
Brody requested ice cream cakes again this year.  He picked out the flavors and luckily he didn't get the Thrifty's cotton candy kind like last year.  We had mint n' chip with chocolate cake, and birthday cake ice cream with funfetti cake.
The kids loved the ice cream cake and were back for more too many times.
The big rocks are a great place to sit and eat.
Someone's hyped up on some sugar.
The adults having some cake and sharing some laughs.
We finished out the day playing on swing set. . . .
and playing with our long time favorite Mt. Tiki-Soki!  It had been too long since we have seen him last; the kids were just babies.  It was still as big a hit as ever.
It was a very fun day for everyone and we were so happy that we have family close that we can share times like this with.  I am very glad that it is all over with and now we can move on to something else :).
