John and I were so excited to see Brody's reaction when he saw all the presents under the tree. This was the first year he knew about Santa and was excited to open gifts. So, as soon as he woke up, he came in our room to get us up and we headed out to the family room. Brody's first words were, "Oh wow, presents!" He says "oh wow" to almost everything right now and I love it! We had a wonderful Christmas day too. My parents had left early that morning for Northern California from my cousin's house, so it was just the four of us.
Santa brought a cool fire truck for Brody.

He was pretty excited about it.

A great shot of me and the kids first thing in the morning.

Brody was the designated present opener for everyone.

John got some awesome new shirts from Santa.

and a leather folio for work.

Piper slept through most of it, looking so cute in her seat.

We headed up John's parents' house for the rest of the day. John's brother Steven and his wife, Becca, were in town visiting for the holidays. Thanks Becca for letting us pass our kids off to you! You were great with them! We had fun hanging out with them and were glad they came down.
We managed to get one good family picture out of the day.
Becca and Piper. This was the first time they had met her.

It was an 80's theme for our stockings this year. I hadn't seen some of this candy in a long time. I remember getting Now and Later's from the ice cream man when I was kid. Oh, and Fun Dips too. Loved those!

All packed and ready to go home.

We had a wonderful Christmas and we hope everyone had one as well. We were very lucky to spend time with both sides of our family this year. It was another great year. We hope that 2009 brings great blessings of happiness to all of you!
